Welcoming New Voices and Experience to the GPRF Board

The George Pocock Rowing Foundation is excited to welcome five new members to our Board of Directors: Malia Burns, Skip Dise, Traci Goodwin, Cameron Wong, and Devin Woodson.

Together, they bring new perspectives, valuable experience, and a shared commitment to expanding access to rowing and strengthening the communities surrounding the sport. We are pleased to introduce Cameron, Traci, and Skip below and look forward to sharing more about Malia and Devin in the months ahead.

Cameron Wong: Creating a Cycle of Opportunity

For Cameron Wong, joining the GPRF Board is also a return to an organization that helped shape his own rowing experience.

A former youth rower at a GPRF-supported boathouse, Cameron understands firsthand what access to rowing and a supportive community can mean for a young person. Today, he serves as Development Specialist at Asian & Pacific Islander Americans in Historic Preservation (APIAHiP) and brings experience serving on local and regional nonprofit boards, including the board of a local rowing organization.

Cameron hopes to use that combination of personal and professional experience to strengthen connections among GPRF, partner boathouses, and young athletes. He is particularly interested in what happens after athletes leave youth rowing - finding ways to keep alumni connected so they can become the next generation of mentors, supporters, and advocates for the sport.

Looking ahead, Cameron is excited to support programs including ERG ED®, Camp Lucy, and Regional Financial Aid while helping build a stronger network connecting athletes, alumni, boathouses, and the broader community.

Traci Goodwin: Returning to Help Shape GPRF’s Next Chapter

For Traci Goodwin, joining the Board is a homecoming.

Traci previously served on the GPRF Board from 2001–2005, including terms as Vice President and President. She returns with both a deep understanding of the Foundation’s history and decades of professional experience.

A retired attorney, Traci most recently served as Senior Port and Ethics Counsel for the Port of Seattle. Her career included providing legal counsel on complex projects, including overseeing legal aspects of the permitting and environmental review for the Third Runway project at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport.

Traci will continue her involvement with GPRF’s Building Committee, where her legal expertise, institutional knowledge, and experience navigating complex projects and decisions will be particularly valuable.

As she reconnects with the organization, Traci is looking forward to supporting GPRF’s current vision and helping steward the Foundation into its next chapter.

Skip Dise: Putting Young Athletes at the Center

Skip Dise joins the GPRF Board with experience that spans nearly every level of rowing-from seventh-grade learn-to-row programs to international competition.

A Chief Product Officer professionally, Skip has also spent years coaching and managing junior rowing programs and building and growing mission-driven businesses. He is currently lending that experience to GPRF’s Programs and Fund Development work.

At the center of Skip’s philosophy is a simple idea: a young person’s opportunity to grow through sport shouldn’t depend on how much their family can afford or how early they demonstrate competitive potential.

Skip has experienced firsthand how lessons learned through athletics can influence success far beyond sport. He hopes to help create environments where more young people can develop confidence, resilience, teamwork, and a sense of what they are capable of - regardless of their starting point.

Stronger Together

Malia, Skip, Traci, Cameron, and Devin join GPRF at an exciting time for the Foundation. Each brings their own experiences, ideas, and reasons for serving, along with a commitment to strengthening the community around rowing and ensuring its benefits reach more young people.

Their perspectives will help inform GPRF’s work across programs, fundraising, facilities, partnerships, and the long-term connections we build with athletes, alumni, and rowing communities throughout the region.

Most importantly, they share a belief that has always been at the heart of GPRF: access to rowing can open doors far beyond the boathouse.

We’re thrilled to welcome Malia, Skip, Traci, Cameron, and Devin to the Board - and grateful to have their leadership helping guide what comes next. Stay tuned as we introduce Malia and Devin more fully in future spotlights.
