2025 Spring Progress Report

Spring is here—and in just three months, we’ve made meaningful progress across the region.

Regional Engagement

In March and April, we completed a Regional Listening Tour with 11 partner boathouses across the Pacific Northwest. These conversations offered valuable insights into youth needs and community priorities. These meetings provide our team and organization with valuable feedback on what’s happening in the region, what young people need, and how the Foundation can continue to evolve our approach Another tour is planned for fall—let us know if we should visit your club!
Did you know that Bainbridge Island Rowing published its first-ever Annual Report (check it out here) or that the Duwamish Rowing Club is looking for a youth coach? (learn more here.) We’re also supporting the launch of Mercer Island Rowing Club—learn more in this article.

Partnership Highlights

  • YMCA: With support from board member, Mai Nguyen, we’ve partnered with the King County YMCA to offer swim lessons for scholarship athletes—making participation safer and easier.

  • USRowing: We secured free USRowing memberships for our scholarship athletes, removing a key financial barrier to competition.

  • AMBTIF → Concrete Foundation: The A Most Beautiful Thing Inclusion Fund, co-founded by Arshay Cooper, has officially transitioned to Concept2’s Concrete Foundation. Though the structure has shifted, we remain mission-aligned and supportive.

  • Women’s Coaching Conference: The GPRF participated in this national gathering, hosted on the West Coast for the first time—highlighting the importance of developing and supporting women in coaching.

  • Cloztalk Partnership: Our new GPRF swag store launched in February! Support the mission just by getting dressed: Shop here.

Event and Fundraising Highlights

  • 26 Point LU (Feb 9): Our erg marathon raised $40,000 for Camp Lucy with 200 participants. We may need a bigger venue next year!

  • PYR Power Hour (Mar 1): Athletes, parents, and alumni raised $45,000 for scholarships through a team erg race and community celebration—including two new boat christenings.

  • Row to the Future Breakfast (Mar 21): With 27 clubs present, this year’s breakfast raised a record-breaking $546,095. We followed up with nearly 300 thank-you postcards and 228 calls—because every donor, guest, and volunteer matters to us.

Thank you for making this all possible!
