Corporate Learn to Row Options

  • Teamwork Intensive

    Focus: Collaboration, trust, shared rhythm. Ideal for departments or new project teams.


    What to Expect:

    • Facilitated workshop: A teamwork expert leads a 45–60 minute session connecting rowing to workplace collaboration.

    • On‑land and on-water session: Intro to rowing on the indoor rowing machine, boat handling, safety, and on-the-water rowing with technique drills emphasizing synchronicity.

    • Reflection & debrief: Guided conversation on how lessons from the boat translate to communication, trust, and project flow.

  • Leadership Development

    Focus: Leading under pressure, decision‑making, adaptability. Ideal for departments or companies looking to expand their leadership roles. 

    What to expect:

    • Facilitated workshop: Leadership facilitator connects rowing experiences to situational leadership, resilience, and feedback.

    • Leadership in the boat: Participants rotate into roles ( stern pair, bow pair, powerhouse) to practice giving clear direction.

    • Performance review: Optional video or coach feedback session highlighting leadership styles and impact.

  • Communication Skills

    Focus: Clarity, timing, active listening. Ideal for teams who work remotely. 



    What to Expect:

    • Facilitated workshop: Communication expert leads a session on listening, clarity, and constructive feedback.

    • On‑water session: Intro to rowing, boat handling, safety, and technique drills emphasizing timing and concise communication.

    • Reflection & debrief: Guided conversation on how lessons learned on the water translate to building communication skills and trust.

  • Riverbend Experience

    Focus: For this Learn to Row option we partner with the Riverbend Group to develop a single or multi-day leadership program for your team. This includes learning to row on the rowing machine, getting out on the water, facilitating team building, leadership development and other rowing related outings (a tour of the UW shellhouse, a cruise on Lake Washington etc.)

    Length: 6-8 Hours.

    Number of People: Minimum 6, no more than 36. 

    Detailed explanation of rowing stroke, physical and mental toughness required, boat mechanics/equipment, teamwork required to row. Specially curated team building exercises through The Riverbend Group, discussions about rowing led by the GPRF staff.
