Below are resources, links, information and more for teachers and Erg Ed instructors in the greater Seattle and Renton areas. If what you need is not here or on the main Erg Ed Teacher Resource Page please contact us with any questions at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Seattle and the Puget Sound are some of the best places to be to have access to rowable water and rowing clubs. If you or your students are interested in learning to row, below you will find more information on nearby rowing clubs by area.
You can also see all rowing clubs available in the state of Washington by accessing the USRowing Website.

If your students have been loving the 10 min relay or you're looking for some good options for extracurricular activities, there are several competitions in which Erg Ed participates and there are always opportunities for informal competition.
ERGOMANIA - Annually in JANUARY
Ergomania is an indoor rowing race hosted by Mount Baker Rowing and Sailing Center at the Ranier Community Center.
If you are interested in entering your students, please fill out the form below and check out more information on the Ergomania website!
ERG ED GAMES - Annually in MAY
Erg Ed Games Seattle brings an opportunity to unite students from different schools to celebrate Erg Ed and offer competition for students to compete against their peers. Erg Ed Games is traditionally hosted at a Seattle Public School. Be prepared for a VERY fun event!
Check back later for more information about Seattle Erg Ed Games 2021!
Want the race but don't want to wait? You can do a virtual race right from your gym to give students a challenge. Erg Ed can facilitate races against schools from across the country! Pair up with another school and challenge them to a race or a contest. We will announce the winner at the end and your kids will love it!
You can also create virtual races in your own classes by connecting the ergs and using a projector to display the event, each student appearing as a boat in the water. You can learn more about this on the Concept 2 website.
Fill out the forms below if either of these things interest you!
REQUEST A FEILD TRIP
Field trips are a great way to make rowing a reality to your students! Erg Ed students are able to visit a boathouse, learn about rowing in a racing shell, learn about rowing equipment, and perhaps even visit a college campus!
Erg Ed Teachers in the Northwest Region can use the form below to request a field trip to a local boathouse!
LEARN TO ROW & HAVE IT COVERED
As an Erg Ed Instructor, you receive several benefits from the George Pocock Rowing Foundation. One of those benefits is reimbursement of a learn to row class at the boathouse of your choice! As Erg Ed representatives, we want you to have access to the sport and learn what it means to row on the water for yourselves!
If you have already taken a learn to row, or are interested in taking one please see the form below for reimbursement!
Another opportunity for you, the teacher, to get out on the water is annually each year in May! The Pocock Rowing Center traditionally hosts an all-staff learn to row for all of Seattle and Renton school staff! This learn to row is open to all teachers and staff, not only Erg Ed Instructors, so make sure you let your school know and bring them with you.
