On a blustery autumn morning at the Pocock Rowing Center, 25 moms gathered for a rowing and team building experience. For almost all of the women gathered this was their first-ever rowing experience, but this group is very familiar with getting out of their comfort zone.
Every Tuesday this group of friends and mothers gets together to do something new and fun. As one woman said to me, "We were all taking our kids to such fun activities and decided that we wanted to have fun, too!" The group has grown from their initial outings as more friends and mothers have joined the fold of fun. These women have tried everything from archery to stand up paddling to, now, rowing.
It was the most unique "team" we have ever hosted at the Pocock Rowing Center and we felt inspired by this group of women, empowering each other to try new things and make time for fun in their busy lives.
If your interest is piqued, reach out to your local boathouse to inquire about options for private learn to row sessions. It's a blast!
