Summer Rowing Camps

Middle School Rowing Camps

  • 2-week summer camps for Experienced middle schoolers start on June 25th, July 9th,
  • 2-week summer camps for New middle schoolers start on July 23rd and August 6th.

Times: 8:15am – 12:15am

The Pocock Rowing Center’s Middle School Rowing Camps are designed with the young athlete in mind.  These 4-hour sessions focus on functional fitness, water safety and teamwork in a fun environment.  These athletes will prepare for Middle School Rowing by training in quads.  The camps are open to all incoming 7th and 8th graders, regardless of experience.

For beginners, this camp is an excellent introduction to the dynamic sport of rowing.  For experienced athletes, this is an opportunity to increase endurance, strength and skill.

Cost: $349/camp

High School Introductory Camps

Dates: 2-week summer camps start on June 25th, July 9th, July 23rd and August 6th.

Times: 8:00am – noon
Coach: Regan Burg

These 4-hour sessions will have an element of fitness training, as well as water safety and rowing fundamentals.  These athletes will train in 8’s.  This is a great program to get student athletes excited about rowing, and our programs at PRC.

Cost: $349/camp

*The July 23rd camp will race at the Green Lake Summer Extravaganza.  The fee for this camp is $389 to cover the cost of the regatta.

U-19 Summer Rowing Camps (Experienced Rowers)

Dates: 2-week summer camps start on June 25th, July 9th, July 23rd and August 6th.

Coaches: Bill Clifford and Layla Balooch

This group will train primarily in singles, focusing on accountability, consistency, endurance, self-reliance in addition to a deeper level of sculling technique.  Additional benefits include high-resistance training and symmetrical motions.  These 2-week programs are designed to increase strength.  Sculling brings many benefits of erging (without the erging, though!).   Athletes involved in training consistently in singles report significant gains in their fall ergometer scores.  This program is develop for predominantly for incoming juniors and seniors.

U-17 Summer Rowing Camps (Experienced rowers)

Dates: 2-week summer camps start on June 25th, July 9th, July 23rd and August 6th.

Times: 9:45am – 11:45 am

Coaches: Bill Clifford and Layla Balooch

This group will train in doubles, gaining a deeper understanding of teamwork, adaptability, rhythm and consistency.  The technical and physical benefits of sculling helps avoid injury, break habits from year-round rowing and increase skills of bladework and posture.  This training is developed predominantly for incoming freshmen and sophomores.

Cost: $179/camp
