Apply for Need-Based Youth Rowing Scholarship

The Pocock Foundation provides need-based youth rowing scholarships at multiple boathouses throughout Seattle and Renton. Click on the button below to apply.

Scholarship funds are awarded based on financial need AND the participant’s ability to meet attendance and participation expectations. If awarded a scholarship, athletes must:

Attend 75% of practices

Volunteer 5 hours per season

Attend one community event per year

Partial and full scholarships are available. The information you provide will be treated confidentially, and will be used only for eligibility determination.

Before completing your scholarship application, be sure you know which boathouse and program you want to participate in.


Scholarships are available for fall, winter, and spring programs at the following locations:

  • Pocock Rowing Center (3320 Fuhrman Ave E, Seattle, 98102)
  • Renton Rowing Center (1060 Nishiwaki Lane, Renton, 98058)
  • Mount Baker Rowing & Sailing Center (3800 S Lake Wash. Blvd, Seattle, 98118)
  • Green Lake Small Craft Center (5900 West Green Lake Way N, Seattle, 98103)
  • Vashon Island Rowing Club – 8900 SW Harbor Dr, Vashon, WA 98070
  • Olympia Area Rowing Association  – 1210 Marine Dr NE, Olympia, WA 98501

Olympia athletes, please note that your organization only offers scholarships that cover up to 75% of dues and fees.

If your boathouse is not listed above and you need a scholarship in order to participate in youth rowing, please apply. Funding is limited and awarded on a case by case basis. Questions? Please email or call Delany Pelz at or (206) 498-8286
