Frequently Asked Questions

What should I bring?

  • Valid Photo ID (Each individual guest needs their own ID)
  • Sunscreen
  • Water
  • Comfortable & weather appropriate clothing (see suggestions below)

What to Wear

We live in Washington so weather and conditions can be unpredictable or change in a hurry. It’s always best to be prepared and have layers and/or options readily available.

  • comfortable t-shirt/tank-top: technical/performance fabric is better than cotton
  • shorts or swim-trunks
  • some people choose to wear swimsuits (especially when using SUP’s)
  • waterproof or water resistant coat (kayakers)
  • hat/visor; sunglasses can be helpful
  • sandals or flip-flops
  • change of clothes
  • towel
  • lock for day-use locker

What do I do with my personal belongings?

  • We have a small selection of lockers that can be used on a first-come, first-served basis. If you want to use a locker please note that you will need to bring your own lock. We recommend leaving all valuables at home, not in your car! Keys and Photo ID may be left with the Rental Attendant.

Do you take reservations?

  • At this time we do not make hourly reservations. Our hourly rentals are done on a first-come first-served basis. If you are looking to bring a larger group (more than 5 people) please contact to see if we can accommodate your needs. We will be happy to work with you to make your outing a success!

Do you allow pets?

  • Although we’re sure Fido would be adorable on the SUP we do not allow pets to participate in paddling activities.

What if the weather looks bad, are you still open?

  • This is the Northwest, so weather changes quickly and often! We will continue regular operations on hot days, sunny days, cloudy days or raining days (that could be just one day of weather around here). The only thing that stands between you and the paddling experience of the summer is high winds or thunder and lightning. Please note that our hours of operations may change without notice due to inclement weather. If you are wondering about the weather at the Renton Rowing Center please feel free to call ahead 425-902-4848.

What payment types do you accept?

  • We accept all major credit cards and cash.

Do we take reservations?

  • No, we do not. If your party is bigger than 4 people, calling ahead is always appreciated!
