About the Renton Rowing Center

The Renton Rowing Center is a community boathouse of the George Pocock Rowing Foundation. Located on the south end of Lake Washington, the Center offers a variety of ways to enjoy the water, including kayak rentals, SUP rentals, learn to row classes, recreational and competitive rowing, and youth rowing programs. Renton Rowing has existed since the early 80’s, however, with limited resources and minimal water access it was hard to get the program started. In the summer of 2013 Renton Rowing partnered with The George Pocock Rowing Foundation. In June of 2014, the doors of the City of Renton’s Cedar River Boathouse re-opened as the new Renton Rowing Center.

Our boat was going as it had never gone before, steady as a rock, not a sound to be heard save for the gurgle of the water under the keel and the mighty whirl of the puddles." Stanley Richard Pocock
